2. Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum

The museum is located in Hangar #1 of the former Lowry Air Force Base, which provided technical training to more than a million enlisted members and officers to strengthen the country's war efforts during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Today the space offers museum visitors 182,000 square feet of space to see aircrafts, space vehicles, artifacts and much more. If you have young children between the ages of one and eight, visiting the Children's Museum of Denver needs to be on your bucket list. The museum offers an array of ever-changing exhibits that aim to inspire interaction and make learning fun. Since it's difficult to see everything in one visit, many families choose to purchase a membership, which starts at $110 for the year. Another great way to try the museum is on Target Tuesdays where free admission is offered every first Tuesday of the month from 4 to 8 p.m.

4. Denver Firefighters Museum

This local museum is located in a 1909 firehouse and celebrates the history of firefighting in Denver by offering a variety of exhibits that visitors of all ages will appreciate.
