Springs at South BroadwayThere is nothing like moving to a shiny new apartment to inspire a good old-fashioned closet purge. It is a natural part of the moving process, symbolizing a fresh new start once you make your donations to your local thrift store. As a bonus, donating old favorite clothing items gives you even more space in your new apartment's spacious walk-in closets, which you may or not fill with a few new clothing items.

Someone in Rochester MN is going to cherish that old sweater and pair of jeans, so please be sure to bring your wonderful generosity along with you to your new Springs community.

All of us can stand to occasionally take stock of our wardrobe to remove clothes that we haven't worn in a year or more. Our team loves donating and shopping at our local thrift stores, so we decided to share some of our favorite spots in town that are convenient to your new Springs at South Broadway apartment community:

  1. Goodwill. Located about one-minute from home at 239 28th Street SE, you can feel good about donating your gently used clothes to this nationally-based non-profit that is steps from your door. Goodwill welcomes your donated items daily. As an extra incentive to donate here, you might appreciate the extra services that Goodwill offers the community, such as providing job training and offering jobs to veterans and other community members who may struggle to find employment. Since this site is also a retail outlet, you can take a tour of the store to see if anything catches your eye once you have finished up with the staff regarding your donations.
  2. Savers. Just over two miles from home, Savers Thrift Store at 1201 S. Broadway welcomes "pre-loved treasures" that you no longer plan to wear. This shop is fun, upbeat and certainly worth browsing once you have left your goods with the donation staff.
  3. The Salvation Army. You can always count on The Salvation Army to accept your clothing donations at their 201 S. 9th Street SE location, which is about two-and-one-half miles from home. Each time you donate to this worldwide non-profit organization, the proceeds of re-selling those items goes to one of the dozen critical, local programs that assist people in need in your community and beyond.
  4. Restored Blessings. If you feel like taking a road trip to explore your new surroundings, you may travel on over to Winona, MN where you can visit Restored Blessings, which is the perfect destination to donate your gently used clothing. This shop accepts your donations Tuesdays through Saturdays and is closed Sundays and Mondays.

We hope these donation spots give you a good idea of how generous Rochester, MN and how well you are going to fit in. Once you have settled in at your Springs at South Broadway apartment, having explored the community clubhouse, the 24-hour fitness center and the complimentary coffee bar—along with our many other alluring amenities—you can start clearing your closet and planning your trip to your favorite new local thrift shop.
