If you're not needing the event space until the spring of 2017, you may want to consider the convention center addition to the Mayo Civic Center. Opening in April, this $84 million expansion project will offer a 38,500-square-foot ballroom, 16 private meeting rooms, pre-function space, and a 7,500-square-foot outdoor plaza. In addition, the facility is surrounded by the 11-acre Mayo Park, which makes this venue ideal for outdoor events as well.

Whether you're hosting a wedding or high school reunion, this 5,000-square-foot banquet facility is perfect for events of up to 250 people. The space is setup to accommodate indoor and outdoor events, which works well for those that want an outdoor wedding ceremony followed by an indoor reception. Another advantage of the Blue Moon Ballroom is that you have the freedom to choose your own caterer for your event.

If you're looking to host a smaller, more intimate event, the Salem Glen Vineyard and Winery can accommodate groups from 5 to 60 people. This family-owned boutique winery was founded in 2006 and features wines made from grapes grown from the rolling hills of the Zumbro River Valley, which is just outside of Rochester.

The winery is located on 12 scenic acres and includes private event space such as the tasting room (800-square-feet and seats 60) and the winery deck (350-square-feet and seats 30).
