Oklahoma City may be considered the gateway to the Old West, but it's totally current when it comes to shopping. As a resident of Springs Oklahoma City, you have no shortage of options whether you're looking for clothing, home decor and accessories, or anything in between. Here are some great destinations to check out on your next shopping excursion.

Penn Square Mall
1901 NW Expressway

Penn Square Mall is home to more than 140 upscale shops as well as a newly renovated food court and all-new restrooms and entrances. Find the latest fashions from designer names like Michael Kors, accessories from luxury retailers such as Coach and home furnishings and decor from Williams-Sonoma and other recognized brands. The mall is anchored by national department stores Dillard's, Macy's and JC Penney.

The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City
7624 W. Reno Avenue

If you think this center is strictly for tourists, it's time to make a visit. Power shoppers are in heaven at this open-air mall with outlets from Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole, Perry Ellis and dozens of other brand-name stores. Before you go, visit the website to browse the list of additional discounts and special sales currently in effect.

Plaza District
1700 block of NW 16th between Classen and Penn

Take in the funky side of OKC in this district that's more of a lifestyle than a shopping center. Independent shops and boutiques are filled with vintage and retro clothing along with one-of-a-kind artist works that make unique gifts or fabulous decor items for your own apartment home. Mark your calendar for the second Friday of each month when their block party, "LIVE on the Plaza," takes place from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Western Avenue
Between NW 36th Street and Wilshire Boulevard

This historic district is both elegant and charming, serving as a bridge between the days of Route 66 and modern OKC. Antique shops and art galleries sit alongside all-natural bakeries and craft beer gastropubs. "Western Avenue on the Lawn" on the first Thursday of each month is a family-friendly festival with live music, food trucks, and games and activities.

Shop Good
3 NW 9th Street

This store deserves special mention for its personality as much as for its merchandise. Shop Good carries an eclectic mix of original clothing, home decor and giftware with items sourced from companies that produce quality goods using eco-friendly practices. In addition, a portion of all sales goes to a designated local charity. Supporting our community adds a satisfying element to your spending power.
