A Reflection on Maintenance Appreciation Week 2020

Written by Maggie Brennan | November 05, 2020

Last week was Maintenance Appreciation Week at Springs Apartments. Our onsite teams dedicated every day of the week to celebrating our maintenance team members. We are so grateful for all the hard work our maintenance teams do, and the vital role they play in our residents’ living experiences. Here are just a few of the memorable moments from our teams last week:

On Monday, our office team members decorated their maintenance golf carts. Each cart was decorated based on the personality of the maintenance team member. Pictured on the right is Victor from Lost Creek at Lakewood Ranch with his safari-themed cart. Maintenance teams were able to ride around their community grounds with their decorated carts all week!

Tuesday was Role Reversal Day, where our office and maintenance teams swapped roles for the morning. Our office team members performed minor work orders and cleaned up the community grounds, while maintenance team members wore office attire, toured apartments and answered phones. This fun activity gave teams the chance to experience what their fellow team members do on a day-to-day basis. Pictured below is the onsite team at Springs at Lakeline swapping roles for the morning.

On Wednesday, our office teams served our maintenance team members breakfast to start the day. Martin and Corey are pictured below enjoying a breakfast served by Springs at Weber Road's community manager Jillion. Then on Thursday, our maintenance teams enjoyed a grill out at the pool for a lunch party! Some communities were even able to invite their residents to join! The team at Springs at Gulf Coast below were able to grill out together with their team and enjoy a long lunch in their honor. On Friday, our onsite teams ordered lunch in and enjoyed some quality time with each other. It was a great way to end the week and celebrate the hard work our maintenance teams put in each day. Pictured below is the Springs at Six Mile Cypress and the Springs at Bettendorf teams enjoying lunch together.

Thank You Maintenance Teams!

Our maintenance teams play a vital role in our residents' living experiences, and it shows through all the wonderful feedback our residents provide us. Here are just a few examples of the positive impact our maintenance team members have on our residents:

"I posted 3 maintenance things last night and they came and fixed it today before I got off work. Best customer service I've ever had in an apartment. Thank you, maintenance team!" - Springs at Woodlands South resident

"No one could ask for a better maintenance staff! Any issue I have had since Hank has been here has been resolved in no time at all! He and his team are extremely friendly and courteous and it’s nice to know I can trust them to help with anything I need at any time!"  - Springs at Hurstbourne resident

"What I thought might take someone a day or two to come and assist us, took about 30 minutes. He was super helpful, friendly, and efficient. And I really appreciate that he went the extra mile to take care of us before the holiday weekend. The Springs need to keep him around, because this service is what makes residents want to stay." - Springs at West Chester resident

"Ryan, I just wanted to say thank you for your service in helping with my requests. You are always pleasant and do a great job. Your professionalism is always appreciated. Thank you for always completing the job thoroughly. My stay at the Springs is awesome with support of you and the whole staff. Thanks again." - Springs at McDonough resident

While Maintenance Appreciation Week is only 5 days long, we appreciate our maintenance team members every day of the year! We are grateful for their ability to go above and beyond for our residents, and for all they do to keep our communities running smoothly.
