When you go out for dinner, do you find yourself automatically heading to the same restaurants out of habit? Try something new this weekend and check out one of the other delicious restaurants in Corpus Christi. Here are some great suggestions from your friends and neighbors at Springs at Corpus Christi that are bound to hit the spot!

Blackbeard's
3117 Surfside Boulevard

A trip to Blackbeard's is an evening of dinner and entertainment all rolled into one. The restaurant is reputed to be the home of a mischievous poltergeist that causes chairs to move, salt shakers to jump and doors to mysteriously open and close. You'll find more down-to-earth attractions in the Rock and Roll Bar, which features items signed by Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens and the Eagles along with other fascinating artifacts. Blackbeard's seafood-centric menu includes Southern and Mexican influences in dishes such as Baja Tacos, Cajun Chicken and Jalapeño Hush Puppies.

Ginger Café
7009 S. Staples Street

You can't go wrong with Mediterranean cuisine, which is both tasty and heart-healthy. Ginger Café serves authentic Greek, Lebanese, Turkish and Persian dishes such as La Portuguesa, a chuck roast stew containing peppers, onions, carrots, celery and potatoes served over basmati rice. The menu also features spicy Indo-Pakistani specialties like Chicken Tikka and Lamb Masala. Vegans will appreciate meat-free options such as hummus, tabouli and baba ghanouj.

J.P. Bombers
6109 McArdle Road

On those days when nothing but a classic, juicy, 10-napkin burger will do, head to J.P. Bombers. This unassuming ketchup-and-mustard-colored storefront is home to what many consider the best burgers in Corpus Christi. Be sure to start with an order of their signature dish, the customer favorite Stuffed Jalapeño Bombers filled with cheese, chicken and bacon. All burgers come topped with cheese and bacon and you can choose from specialties like the popular Atomic Burger with grilled onions and jalapeños. Portions are so large that you're likely to leave with lunch for the next day!

Silverado Smokehouse
4522 Weber Road

Texans have BBQ in their DNA, and local residents have regularly recognized Silverado Smokehouse as one of the best BBQ joints in town. Beef ribs and brisket are the most popular choices of their slow, hickory-smoked meats. If you have any room left after your meal, enjoy free soft-serve ice cream in cake cones. Silverado has a number of take-out party packs that are perfect for tailgating and other get-togethers.

Andy's Country Kitchen
5802 S. Staples Street

Start your day with a satisfying breakfast of comfort food favorites at Andy's Country Kitchen. Owner Agie Dominguez assumed ownership of this family-run restaurant after serving as the customers' favorite waitress for more than 25 years. Combo meals come with choices of meat including pork chops, ribeye steak and country-fried catfish. If you like it hot, try a Mexican specialty like breakfast enchiladas.
