Restaurants_Austin.jpgIt's tough to find a restaurant that has an awesome atmosphere, great service, and serves high-quality food. Luckily, while Austin has seen tremendous growth as of late, so has its restaurant scene. Here are four of the best new restaurants with unique specialities you won’t want to miss out on:

Homestyle

1. Irene's
506 West Ave, Austin
18 miles from Springs at Lakeline

Irene's specializes in top-notch food that tastes like it came straight out of your grandma's kitchen. Using only the finest fresh and local ingredients, each dish is created with great attention to detail. Hearty dinners include the savory Chicken Pot Pie and the mammoth Steak & Whiskey—a 1 lb. bone-in New York Strip with bourbon mushrooms and onions, served with a shot of whiskey.

Irene's opens at 7 a.m., so you can grab a delectable cinnamon morning bun and a cup of coffee on your way to work.

Dessert

2. Nightcap
1401 West 6th St, Austin
17.4 miles from Springs at Lakeline

This cozy night-time retreat is well-known for its exquisite desserts, but Nightcap offers tempting savory dishes as well. Night owls will love snacks like Housemade Pretzels and Smoked Gouda Cheese Plate, and you can follow up these tasty snacks with drinks like the Peanut Butter in a Jam, made with peanut butter ice cream, Deep Eddy vodka, and strawberry jam.

If you’re looking to try some of their renowned desserts, check out the Dreamsicle with vanilla ice cream, creme fraiche, olive oil cake, and orange supreme, or a Dark Chocolate Cremeux consisting of a wild rice krispie treat, coconut milk, banana ice cream, and lime.

Japanese

3. Otoko
1603 S Congress Ave, Austin
23 miles from Springs at Round Rock

Looking for a unique, intimate dining spot? Otoko is the new hot spot in the Austin restaurant scene, and rather difficult to get into, as there are only 12 seats. Otoko's atmosphere is certainly unique, as diners start by getting a preview of the interesting ingredients they’re about to sample, like squid ink and match, and enjoy an attentive dinner service in the dining room where they interact with the charming chef. Ingredients such as Shigoku oysters and Hokkaido uni are masterfully blended to create fascinating dishes not found elsewhere.

Breakfast

4. Snooze: an A.M. Eatery
1700 S Lamar Blvd #301, Austin
24.3 miles from Springs at Round Rock

This remarkable little eatery may have started in Denver, but its menu has been tailored for true Texans. You’ll go crazy for Snooze's insanely creative menu whether you like a protein-filled breakfast with eggs and meat, or have a morning sweet-tooth. With a variety of delectable signature dishes like the Breakfast Pot Pie, Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes, and OMG! French Toast made with bread & Cie brioche, mascarpone, vanilla creme, salted caramel, fresh strawberries, and toasted coconut, Snooze is sure to please any palate.

Some of the truly Texan dishes include Chilaquiles Benedict and Juan's Breakfast Tacos—fresh corn or flour tortillas, scrambled eggs, shredded hash browns, jack cheese, green chile hollandaise, and pico de gallo.
